Tottenham Boss Frank Calls Vicario Booers 'Not Real Fans'

Fulham Start Strong to Defeat Spurs and Raise Pressure on Frank

Spurs fans who jeered keeper Vicario were informed afterwards "they cannot be true Spurs supporters" by boss Thomas Frank.

Tottenham let in two scores in the opening six minutes to lose 2-1 to their opponents, registering their 10th top-flight at home defeat of the year.

But the primary topic of discussion was Fulham's next goal when the keeper gave away the ball well beyond his box.

The goalkeeper came out to deal with a high pass and carried the ball towards the touchline.

But, instead of kicking it into touch, the Italy international turned and attempted to clear, but lost his footing as the ball glanced off Harry Wilson and was collected by King.

The forward laid the ball off to Welsh midfield player Harry Wilson, who bent a strike into the goal from the sideline recorded at thirty-six point six yards.

Moments later when the ball came to the keeper again, some Spurs fans jeered him.

Spurs were jeered off at the interval, with the club 2-0 behind, and once more at full-time.

A particular of those jeering sessions really angered the manager.

"It came to my attention a few of our fans apparently booed the situation and jeered following, which, in my view is totally unjustifiable," the Danish manager commented regarding the supporters' reaction to his goalkeeper.

"Those individuals can't be real Spurs fans that act that way. Fair enough jeering following the match, no problem, but when we are in play, we are backing one another, we are behind each other moving ahead."

Kenny Tete had handed Fulham a early lead prior to Wilson's strike – with Mohammed Kudus netting for Spurs in an improved second-half performance.

Former top-flight goalkeeper Hart stated that the second score was "completely preventable".

"I do understand the fans' disappointment," Hart added. "I know the role Vicario is playing. He's a great squad member, he's a true figure in the locker room but ultimately you are going to be assessed by your decisions.

"He was heavily involved in what turned out to be the winning goal."

Frank Stood Up For His Goalkeeper Vicario After the Game

Italian international the keeper is in his 3rd season with Tottenham.

The 29-year-old stated following the game that he had to accept the feedback.

"The second goal was a mistake of mine, I accept accountability for that," he commented.

"The intent was to kick the ball far and I just hit the ball in a bad manner. That made an even bigger mountain to climb."

He said receiving jeers "comes with the game".

"I am mature, what can I say?" he added. "We can't be affected by the situation in the stands. Supporters have the entitlement to do as they see fit.

"It's on us to remain more composed, to focus on ourselves. We are lacking in calmness and poise to reverse results. This match is a poor loss and it is tough to take."

'I Was Surprised No One Went Back to the Goal Line'

In spite of Vicario's mistake, it was not an easy score for Harry Wilson to score.

In fact it was the second longest-range top division goal of the season – after Adams' forty-three point three yard strike for the Cherries against the Black Cats, which interestingly too came on the same day.

The goalscorer said he was "somewhat taken aback" that he still had an empty goal to target.

10 seconds elapsed between Vicario exiting of his area and Wilson striking – which was 5 moments after the kick.

"I felt like the keeper was out of the box for a long time," Wilson said.

"It amazed me not one of the defenders returned to the line. When none of them defended the net, my interest sparked a bit.

"[Destiny] Udogie fell too, which gave me a little extra opportunity. Then it was solely about attempting to achieve the right connection and get it on target. I had a positive feeling, the moment it left my foot, that it was on the right line."

Jeering While We Are Still Playing Is Completely Unjustifiable - Frank

Although the keeper's mistake led headlines, this was an all-round poor day for Tottenham to extend their home struggles.

The match was their 10th home defeat of 2025 in the Premier League, a joint team statistic along with 1994 and two thousand and three.

The side still have home fixtures against Frank's former club Brentford and champions Liverpool to come prior to the close of the season.

Just a single of those wins have come since Frank replaced his predecessor in the off-season.

"When you're behind 2-0 following the opening, there is a huge challenge to overcome," stated the boss.

"During in a poor run, all aspects appears to go against you as well – the opening was a redirected shot, the next is a mistake from Vic.

"This result puts us in a place where we have lost another game. Each fixture has a unique story, today we lost in the first six minutes.

"We just need to continue striving. The second half was significantly improved and hopefully something we can utilize to learn."

Spurs have been defeated in 4 consecutive home capital clashes for the first time in the top division.

Furthermore they are averaging 9.5 shots and 3.2 shots on target per match in the Premier League – their poorest averages on file in a single season (since at least the 2003-04 season).

Former Cottagers midfield player Murphy commented that Frank has to endure the criticism.

"He's got accept the criticism," the pundit said. "He has taken a prestigious role at a major football club with enormous expectation. There is scrutiny and responsibility that accompanies that.

"The performances at their stadium have been disappointing and they have to improve {quickly|
